Neutral Density Transmittance Filter Sets

Neutral density filters are useful in the calibration of photometric, spectrophotometric, or radiometric systems. Calibrated filters are used to assess the dynamic range of detectors and optical systems. A set of transmittance standards offers a convenient way of checking the performance of any spectrophotometer.

Avian Technologies offers three types of filter:

  • Schott Glass (TFS-NDG)
  • Metal (Inconel) on Glass (TFS-ND)
  • Metal on Quartz (TFS-NDU)

Filters are available in two formats

  • 2” square
  • Standard 10mm cuvettes, canted to eliminate inter-reflection error

Our filters are aged in an oxidizing atmosphere to aid in long-term stability.

Stock Neutral Density Filter Sets

Sets are calibrated with tabular data at 20 nm intervals and digital data at 1 nm intervals, traceable to NRC/NIST. All sets come boxed.

We also offer custom sets and single filters; contact us to discuss your specific application.
