Typical near-IR total hemispherical reflectance is in the 92-94% range and mid-IR total hemispherical reflectance is typically 94-97%.
Suitable substrates for NIR gold coating are aluminum or stainless steel, while coating for the mid-IR is best applied to certain aluminum alloys, particularly 6061-T6 and -1000. We can provide AvianGold coating on parts large and small, including flat plates for targets, standards, other optical components requiring high diffuse reflectance in the mid-IR, and integrating spheres up to 18″ diameter.
